After putting on 18 months of sold-out life drawing sessions, the Corner Gallery have announced a special edition: an Evenings of Life Drawing Soiree on Wednesday, November 18!
Those who have been to life drawing class before will know that the classes typically consist of a single nude model and mix of about 40 experienced artists crafting the next Mona Lisa as well as art gumbies doing their best to make their drawing resemble something like a human. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere, with your ticket including a drink from the bar and all the art supplies. For a full rundown, see our blog on their fortnightly sessions.
However, for one night only, the Corner Gallery is going all out and opening up their gallery space to make way for a second model, as well as putting on bottomless drinks from Gage Roads and Margs’ Mad Fish Wines, a glass of Moet on arrival and a ‘walking grazing table’. Catered by the Re Store, the usual grazing table is replaced with one that comes to you throughout the night, so you can focus your time on crafting your masterpiece.
The male and female models will swap rooms three times throughout the session, giving drawers the chance to experience both rooms whilst continuing to draw just the one model. Or, if you prefer, you could try your hand at drawing both models. One space will be hosting a live jazz band and the other will be plastered with abandoned artworks from previous life drawing classes, so keep an eye out for yours if you’ve been before!
The Evenings of Life Drawing Soiree will be on Wednesday, November 18 from 7-9pm. Grab your tickets here.
