Bistro Felix Wine Bar welcomes new chef and menu with all-day dining options

With the new year, Bistro Felix Wine Bar has welcomed new head chef HueMan Lam, who has in turn introduced a new seasonal menu, including all-day options for the first time. So now you can now go for a bite after the 3pm school pick-up!

Previously, the menu had been set with lunch options from 12-3pm and dinner from 5-9pm, leaving a bit of a gap for those of us who love a late lunch, or parents wanting to wander down with the kids (and your pooch – they are dog-friendly!) for an after-school meal. Highlights for the all-day menu include three different types of oysters (with one unique crumbed option), a Wagyu beef burger with truffle mayo, good old fish and chips and of course, a charcuterie board. Or, if you need an afternoon pick-me-up, their small bar licence means you can go just for a drink while you soak up the sun on the front deck.

If you plan to head down during the lunch or dinner service, you will have the option to choose from the regular menu as well. The three-course menu has had a makeover to dish out a taste of the European summer, championing fresh, light options like prawn salad and king fish crudo for an entree, a glorious medley of shellfish in the seafood melange as a main and pavlova with summer fruits as well as an alcoholic lychee prosecco popsicle for dessert, just to name a few. Regulars will be glad to know that the lunch special has remained, offering a two-course lunch with a glass of wine for just $45.

New Chef HueMan designed the menu to cater to vegans as well, with a beetroot salad, chickpea & mushroom ragu and a dark chocolate bar or sorbet, plus a hefty portion of the sides as vegan-friendly options. Before taking on the role at Bistro Felix, HueMan was the executive chef at several branches of the Hilton Hotel across Australia and New Zealand, having worked her way up over almost 15 years, and winning a bunch of hospitality awards along the way. Now, with a wealth of experience under her belt, she joins owner and wine sommelier Jeremy to create a new European modern dining experience at Bistro Felix.

Bistro Felix is open Tuesday-Saturday, 12pm-late on Wed-Fri and 4.30pm-late on Tues & Sat
