Dog (and rabbit) friendly cafes in Subiaco

Subiaco is home to a thriving community of canine companions, so it’s no surprise the streets are lined with dog-friendly cafes offering shaded alfresco areas and water bowls. Some even serve up special treats for your four-legged friends, including ‘dog popsicles’ to keep them cool on warm days.

The Corner Store

Both a café and mini marketplace stocking dog accessories (including dog puffer jackets) and more locally made items, The Corner Store is basically begging you to bring your dog in. Their seated area is almost entirely outside and offers a ‘dog parking’ station (implemented by owner of local dog KoKo) where you can safely tie your dog up while you pop in to order. Plus, they have a communal herb garden, so feel free to take a handful of chilli or mint on your way out.

Open Mon-Fri 6am-4pm; Sat 6am-2pm; Sun 7am-1pm
333 Rokeby Rd, Subiaco

Café Melograno

Just across the road is Café Melograno, another café offering the wholesome ‘dog parking’ station, this time attached to the tree out front. They offer a large alfresco area out front so you can keep an eye on your pooch as you take your pick of their all-day breakfast menu.

Open Mon-Sat 6.30am-2.30pm & Sun 6.30am-1pm
67 Heytesbury Road, Subiaco

Hole in the Wall Coffee

With a super simple menu of just coffee and not-so-simple toasties – think brie, smoked salmon and balsamic pear – Hole in the Wall Coffee is a great place to stop by when walking the dog. They are extremely pet friendly, welcoming all animals, even rabbits. In warmer months, you can grab a dog popsicle to cool down your furry friend, then relax in the Theatre Gardens before continuing your walk.

Open Mon 7am-2pm, Tues-Fri 8:00am-2:00pm
Subiaco Arts Centre, Subiaco

Little Rokeby Café

A favourite of news reporter and longstanding Subiaco local Adrian Barich, Little Rokeby is as dog-friendly as you can get. They have dog biscuits available on the counter, so you won’t have to deal with those puppy dog eyes on your food, and for humans, we recommend the homemade sausage rolls and pies.

Open Mon-Sun 6:30am-4:00pm
269 Rokeby Rd, Subiaco

The Little Pantry

With a massive courtyard and leafy garden out back, The Little Pantry is a great place to stop on your morning walk with your furry friend. The courtyard is accessible from the back entrance, so you can avoid walking your dog through the café to get to it. Plus, they offer takeaway dog treats made by local Subiaco businesses, as well as unique breakfasts such as earl-grey infused porridge and a kimchi BLT.

Open 7am-2pm

Café Café

With a dedicated pet-friendly area in their alfresco, Café Café is a perfect pit stop if you’re walking your dog on the north side of Subiaco. Your dog can enjoy a treat as you drink your coffee and peruse the artist-in-resident’s artworks on the café walls.

Open Mon-Fri 5:45am-6:00pm; Sat-Sun 5:45am -5:00pm
29 Station Street, Subiaco

Brew-Ha

Take a look through their socials and you’ll see that the staff at Brew-Ha love their dogs. One of the longest standing cafes in Subiaco, you can expect to find lots of fellow dogs keen for some playtime in the alfresco area. Plus, they roast their own coffee beans, so you know the coffee’s always going to be good (if the crowds didn’t tell you that already).

Open 6am-2:30pm
3-4/162 Rokeby Rd, Subiaco
