Subiaco is getting a pop-up square for events, live music, free yoga classes and more

The space where Churchill Avenue meets Rokeby Road is set to become Subiaco Pop Up Square: an activated street space for events and installations, as well as simply a space for people to sit and relax or meet with friends.

The space will come alive from Thursday, March 25 to Sunday, May 13, and will extend from Rokeby Road to the walkway adjacent to Delisio Pizza Romana. Over the 6 week period, the street will be closed off to cars, creating a safe, pedestrian-only space.

So far, the program includes live & local acoustic music sessions, both during lunchtime breaks and in the afternoons, family mini golf, light projections on the stunning heritage building on Churchill avenue, garden workshops to teach the basics of herb and floral gardening, smoothie stands and yoga, pilates and spin classes.

Art lovers are well-catered for too, with a community art project inviting locals to paint and decorate a pop-up canvas over the six weeks, as well as craft workshops from flower-crown making to painting ceramics.

More to come – keep an eye on our website and socials for the full reveal!
