Parents will know that keeping up with the rapid development of kids can be tough and keeping them entertained can be even tougher. These parent-run not-for-profit toy libraries may have the solution.
While your traditional library allows members to borrow books, this library is designed for members to loan toys and puzzles for tots to enjoy at home for up to three weeks at a time.
Promoting development in early childhood, the library holds a wide range of interactive toys, games and puzzles suitable for ages 0 to 6 years of age, including a brand-new 10-piece modular set for kids to build with.
With branches located at the Tom Dadour Community Centre in Subiaco and the Community Centre in Shenton Park, parents can avoid constantly buying expensive new toys for their growing kids and try out this more sustainable option.
Open to visitors every Saturday morning, between 9.00am and 10.30am at Shenton Park Toy Library and 9.30am and 11.00am at Subi Toy Library, families can borrow toys from as little as $1.50 per week with a membership, and new families are always welcome to join the supportive community.
Find your local branch either at the Tom Dandour Community Centre, 363 Bagot Rd, Subiaco or at the Rear of the Community Centre, 240 Onslow Road, Shenton Park.
