If you are a lover of beer, wine or whiskey and looking to do something local on a Friday night, sign up for one of the regular tastings at Cellarbrations.
Tastings are often co-hosted by local brewers, distillers and winemakers so you can get special insights from the experts themselves. To be invited you first need to sign up for a free membership. Numbers are limited and works on a first-come first-served basis.
The tastings are held in the spacious Ceilidh Tasting Room, which is Irish Gaelic for celebration.
If you’re after a bit more privacy, you can hire out the area for up to 30 guests. Shaunaugh can also arrange catering from local Subiaco restaurants or if a homemade feast is more of your jam, you can bring your own food.
Hiring out the room is free of charge, so all you need to pay for are your drinks of choice. Prior to the tasting, let Shaunaugh know your budget and your drinks of choice, and she’ll have it all set up and ready to go for your arrival.
Everything in the store is available for tasting so Shaunaugh recommends you pop in beforehand to get an idea of a tasting theme. The whisky selection is particular expansive, including everything from the classic Balvenie Tun 1509 to Nikka Yoichi, a 15-year-old Japanese Whisky valued at $1150 a bottle.
