Originally launched back in February 2019, the Sheridan Recycling Program encourages shoppers to minimise their carbon footprint by recycling their old bed linen and towels at Sheridan stores.
Having closed for most of 2020 due to COVID-19, the recycling program is back up and running as of January 18, 2021.
All you have to do is wash your linen and towels and hand them over in-store; they don’t even have to be the Sheridan brand, either. The best part (apart from the warm fuzzy you get from doing your bit for Mother Earth) is that when you return old linen, Sheridan shout you 5% off any new linen you buy that day for purchases over $100.
Wastage in the textiles industry is a huge problem for the environment, so back in 2019 Sheridan decided to lead the way for textiles & homewares and created the first recycling program for linen. The program prevents old sheets and towels from ending up in landfill, and instead reduces the material into yarn and repurposes it into ‘new’ bedding.
Since launching in February 2019, the Sheridan Recycling Program has diverted over 25,000kg of old linen and towels from landfill, which is a pretty impressive feat!
